07. 10. 2012FREE DERBY! DJINK-I-JUNKA: BUSH USED TO BE DARK PREMIERE

It is the obligation of mankind to save an animal species from extinction. Not everyone perceives it this way, though. How difficult is it to lead a preservation project in Africa? What joys and problems does fieldwork present to scientists, preservationists and filmmakers? Learn more about the now nearly extinct giant eland, which future generations may very well know only from stories. The answers to the above questions can be found in the documentary film “Djink-i-junka: Bush Used to Be Dark.“ A lot more information that did not find its way into the film will be revealed after the screening by the makers of the film themselves, who are the main characters in the film and preservationists of the giant elend at the same time.[...]

25. 09. 2012AUTHENTISTS, WINEMAKERS AGAINST THE CURRENT (OF TIME)

A poet, writer and passionate vine-grower Bogdan Trojak at the LSFF festival will present the young winemaking group who call themselves The Authentists. They make unique wines without unnecessary manipulation and additives. They return to the original way of making wine, without unnecessary human or chemical intervention. Their winemaking could be compared to playing period instruments – they prefer traditional styles and Central European varieties, they don’t dismiss wooden barrels and they realise the importance of autochthonic microorganisms in the process of making wine. They see vineyards as significant elements forming the Moravian landscape. A natural character and following natural laws are seen as essential for both wines and vineyards.[...]

The quality and safety of food, new technologies, traditional procedures, the environment and ecological technologies, invasive species...
